Connie loves taking a personal interest in styling her patients with the right eyewear to meet their lifestyle needs. Connie feels it is so important to educate everyone on the need for different types of lenses for different life situations. She feels that everybody needs to have polarized sunglasses as well as glasses that help block blue light to help prevent macular degeneration. (Something she knows first-hand about).
Connie enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She has recently adopted a stray cat named Miles. She also loves fishing, golfing, bowling, doing crafts, going to church and painting with oil paints.
Donna started working in optometry in 2007. After a few short years she was eager to learn more so she started working in ophthalmology. In our office Donna's job title is a super tech, what this means is that she is with the patient from the time patients walk into our office until the time they walk out. Donna will start by pretesting the patient, after pre testing she will walk the patient into the exam room to get them ready to see our doctor. When the patient is ready for the doctor Donna will remain in the room with the patient recording notes for the doctor while the exam is being preformed. If any extra testing is done she would at this time do testing with the patient as well. After the patient had finished with the doctor Donna walks with the patient to optical and help them choose a frame. Donna will also be the one placing the eye glass order with the patient, choosing the best lens and coatings for each patient. Donna also specialized in the fitting, adjusting, trouble shooting and fixing of eye glasses. She is also experienced in contact lenses so she often teaches our contact lens classes to our new contact lens patients.
Donna was born in Battle Creek and had lived there her whole life. She loves spending as much time as she can with her Son Taylen. They enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing new things. They spend a lot of time out side camping, fishing, canoeing or at the park. When they cant be out side Donna enjoys doing arts and crafts or just being cuddled on the couch watching movies with her son. Donna also has a lot of friends that she loves spending time and planning things with as well. Donna is currently furthering her education so she can ensure patients are getting the best possible treatment.
Tenise began her career in eye care in 1992 and loves it to this day. She enjoys the interactions with the public and helping our patients and clients see and look their best. She has been an ophthalmic technician/Optician for over 25 years and received her ABOC certification in 2000.
Involved in many aspects of our clinic’s services, from optical to administration, Tenise is an integral part of our team.
Tenise was born in Coldwater Michigan and has two grown children. She enjoys spending time with them and her grandchildren. In her spare time she shops and catches up with friends. She likes spending time with family and taking care of her home and yard as well as movies and reading a good book.
Her greatest life lesson? When she realized that speaking and thinking shape our environment.
Tenise enjoys what she does and continues to increase her knowledge in the optical world and beyond. Doing the best job she can for patients to help them see as best as they can and understand the importance of their eye care needs is always top of mind.
Her philosophy on life? Live, Love, Laugh
I have worked for 26 years at our local medical laboratory which I loved being a part of, but thought it was time for a change, so I applied here at Battle Creek Eye Clinic and was lucky enough to be chosen for the patient coordinator position. I am looking forward to learning all that I can about the optometry field with an amazing group of co workers for support.
In my off time I enjoy walking my Irish Wolf Hound and spending quality time with my family. I have a daughter that attends University of Pittsburgh and a son attending KCC. My husband and I have spent many years on the side lines of a soccer field supporting our daughter as she has played since she was 6. I also enjoy watching my husband teach my son new moves on his skate board, which is always entertaining.
