Our receptionists at Battle Creek Eye Clinic will try to accommodate your busy schedule by finding appointments that suit your needs. Connie, A.B.O., N.C.L.E.

A native of Bronson, Michigan, Connie maintains nationally recognized credentials from the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners. Connie began her career as an optician in 1981. She chose to work in the optometric industry because she loves the field, loves to help people, and specializes in fitting premium digital progressive lenses. She attended Ferris State University and Western Michigan University. Connie received many academic awards and honors throughout college, while earning her degrees in Opticianry, Business, and Accounting.
 
Connie enjoys spending time with her family, which consists of her husband and their adopted stray cat, Dodger. She also loves fishing, golfing, bowling, doing crafts, going to church, painting with oil paints, and volunteering twice a month at a share center; where she helps feed the homeless and hungry of Battle Creek, many of whom are war veterans.

Donna

A very people-oriented lady, Donna enjoys working with the public, and has vast experience as a receptionist; nearly thirty years. Her previous work consists of 20 years in the dental industry, five years in the chiropractic industry, and now the optometry industry for three years. 
 
Donna grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, entertaining guests at her home, and relaxing with her family: her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and her cat, Josie.
Tracy

Tracy Thweatt

Clinical Manager and Technician

Tracy thrives in working with the fabulous staff and caring and dedicated doctors at the Battle Creek Eye Clinic. Her daily responsibilities include that of Technician (patient prelims), ensuring all charges are entered, referral letters to doctors outside the practice and making sure that the clinical side of the practice runs smoothly. She has 20 years of experience in ophthalmology and optometry, medical billing and coding.

Born in Houston Texas, Tracy enjoys kayaking, bunco, time with family and reading. Her philosophy on Life: “Do what makes you happy”. Tracy’s long term goals are to finish her associates degree and continue to grow in the optometry world.

Tenise-Copy

Tenise Verile, ABOC

Tenise began her career in eye care in 1992 and loves it to this day. She enjoys the interactions with the public and helping our patients and clients see and look their best. She has been an ophthalmic technician/Optician for over 25 years and received her ABOC certification in 2000.

Involved in many aspects of our clinic’s services, from optical to administration, Tenise is an integral part of our team.

Tenise was born in Coldwater Michigan and has two grown children. She enjoys spending time with them and her grandchildren. In her spare time she shops and catches up with friends. She likes spending time with family and taking care of her home and yard as well as movies and reading a good book.

Her greatest life lesson? When she realized that speaking and thinking shape our environment.

Tenise enjoys what she does and continues to increase her knowledge in the optical world and beyond. Doing the best job she can for patients to help them see as best as they can and understand the importance of their eye care needs is always top of mind.

Her philosophy on life? Live, Love, Laugh

Angela Ausbury

Angie enjoys greeting each patient with a welcoming smile. Among her many duties as our patient coordinator are answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and checking insurance coverage for patients.

Angie also works as a technician, doing diagnostic tests and preparing patients to see the doctor.Angie really enjoys meeting new people and learning new things. Most of all, she loves being part of a team that truly works together to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Born in Sterling, IL, Angie moved to Battle Creek in 1998. She loves to hang out with her family. She takes great joy in seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter. She also enjoys reading and working in her flower garden.

Angie worked as a receptionist for an eye clinic with multiple ophthalmologists, an optometrist, and an optical department for about eighteen months before she began assisting the clinic’s optometrist. She became a certified ophthalmic assistant through JCAHPO in February of 2012. She has worked in the field of optometry for twelve years.

Angie attended Rock Falls High School before studying at Sauk Valley Community College and Evangel University. One of her greatest honors was serving with a medical missions team providing eye care in Zambia. Her last trip was in January of 2016.
